Traditional furniture styles will always be available, but recently many ultra-contemporary styles have become popular. You’ll see ultra-contemporary styles in magazines, on television, and on the show room floor. You might think that you can only get such stylish furniture in cities like New York and Chicago, but there are actually many great contemporary furniture stores right in the St. Louis area! I’ve listed the top contemporary furniture stores in St. Louis in this article- and armed with this list you are bound to find that hip look you’ve been craving!
1. Good Works
Good Works is located in the University City Loop and they offer modern furniture at affordable prices. Good Works buys all of their inventory straight from manufacturer, so they can pass the savings on to you. They offer furniture items such as beds, sofas, occasional tables, dining tables, and many other furniture items.
2. Dolnick’s
Dolnick’s is located downtown on Page Avenue and they offer a wide selection of contemporary furniture. Dolnick’s is a little more expensive than Good Works, but they also offer a wider selection. They offer everything from bedroom furniture to home accents.
3. Bova Contemporary Furniture
Bova is located in West County off of Manchester Road. Bova has a wide selection of very contemporary furniture, including furniture for the home office. The salespeople at Bova are also excellent at helping you design a room around their furniture. Bova furniture is not cheap, but they often have sales and also have a large clearance room where you can find great deals.
4. Lay-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries
Lay-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries has two locations in the St. Louis area, one in South County and one in West County. Although all of the furniture at Lay-Z-Boy is not contemporary, they do have a great selection. Lay-Z-Boy’s contemporary selection is mostly designed by Todd Oldham- and includes sofas, armchairs, and ottomans. Many of the Todd Oldham pieces at Lay-Z-Boy have to be special ordered and take at least 6 to 8 weeks.
5. Crate & Barrel
Crate and Barrel has one location in the St. Louis area, at the Brentwood Promenade. Crate and Barrel offers a great selection of contemporary furniture at moderate prices. Their collection includes sofas, arm chairs, bedroom furniture, and more. Crate and Barrel also offers many contemporary accessories to make your contemporary home complete.
6. House of Denmark
House of Denmark has two St. Louis area locations, one off of Tesson Ferry in South County and another off of Olive Road in West County. House of Denmark has the best selection of all the contemporary furniture stores in the area, but it will come at a price! House of Denmark has furniture for the living room, dining room, family room, home office, and bedroom. Their furniture is very costly, but if you aren’t willing to sacrifice style House of Denmark is your store!
